Get ready to fall in love with my favorite breakfast! When I went oil free I was really sad that I could no longer enjoy this recipe as I had previous baked it with oil. Thanks to Mary McDougall, I learned that I could replace oil with a prune puree. The exciting news is it tastes the same as when I baked it with oil! No one can tell the difference! Success! Introducing my heart healthier Famous Granola.

Granola:

7 cups rolled oats
½ cup slivered raw almonds
½ cup chopped raw pecans
2 cups chopped raw walnuts
½ cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup unsweetened chipped coconut

In a separate bowl, mix together
Granola topping:

¼ cup prune puree (seedless prunes and water in blender to applesauce consistency)
½ cup pure organic maple syrup
½ cup honey
2/3 cup water

Pour topping over granola, stir and bake at 225 degrees
in 2, 9×13 glass pans for 2 ½ hrs. stirring every hour.
Cool, refrigerate or freeze. Enjoy!

We like to eat this recipe like cereal, topped with fruit and our favorite non-dairy milk.

 

My goal is to teach others a way to eat in which they can prevent and even reverse all modern disease. I especially hope moms will change what they feed their kids to prevent future pain and suffering. It's so simple. Let's do this!
